In November I participated in National Novel Writing Month, wrote 51,072 words and developed a crazy habit of waking at 4:15 a.m. to write before my family wakes. Fifty thousand words is about 100 typed pages or roughly the size of "The Great Gatsby." My novel continues to pull me out of bed, so page count and sleep deficit both grow.

I live in Sparks, Nev. with my husband and four children, who serve as both inspiration and impediment to my writing. My articles and essays have been published in the Christian Science Monitor, Psychology Today, Mamazine, The Mothers Movement Online, and the anthology "Twice the Love: Stories of Inspiration for Parents of Twins and Multiples."
